How To Reach Puri

Puri is a temple city located in the state of Odisha (Orissa) and one of the most spiritual places in the entire country. The famous festival of Rath Yatra and other festivals related to Lord Jagannath are celebrated with intense vigor with millions of devotees attending these festivals. The Rath Yatra, also known as Chariot festival witness moving of the deities on colossal chariots which are pulled by hundreds of devotees.
There are several ways to reach Puri as it is well connected with road, rail and air.

By Road

The city of Puri is linked with the capital city via State Highway No. 8 with Bhubaneswar connected to major cities like Chennai and Kolkata via National Highway No. 5. The best way to go from Bhubaneswar to Puri is on one of the State Govt. buses, mini buses and tourist buses leaving from Bhubaneswar main Bus Stand. One can also opt for private taxis although costlier. One can visit Pipili (famous for Applique Work), Sakhigopal (famous for Lord Krishna Temple) and Raghurajpur (famous for Pattachitra Paintings).

By Railways

Puri is the end point of the Southern Eastern Railway Route and has fast and superfast train connections to Calcutta, New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and other major cities and towns of the country.
Some important trains that go via Puri from major cities are:

From Delhi: Purshottam Express, Puri Express and Neelachal Express

From Kolkata: Howrah-Puri Express, Howrah-Puri Sri Jagannath Express

Apart from that, Sampark Kranti Express (Delhi-Bhubaneswar) and Rajdhani Express (Delhi-Bhubaneswar) are other two trains that depart from Delhi.

By Air

Puri is at a distance of 60 kms from the capital city of Bhubaneswar which is connected by air with flights to major Indian cities like New Delhi, Calcutta, Visakhapatnam, Ranchi, Chennai and Mumbai etc. All major domestic airlines like Air Deccan, Kingfisher, Indian Airlines have daily flights to/from Bhubaneswar.
